Courses
The
purpose of microsurgical training is to develop specialized surgical
skills to facilitate the repair of small vessels and nerves.
Training is conducted as a two part process: watching the training DVD
and practicing surgical skills. Dr. Robert D. Acland’s DVD: “Practice
Manual for Microvascular Surgery” is extensively used.
We offer 3 different types of courses:
Microsurgical Exposure Course.
Oriented for medical professionals that need to be introduced to
microsurgery but that will not require advanced skills for their
practice. This course involves the following chapters:
- Precondition of Microsurgical Skill
- Basic Suturing Technique
- Rat Femoral Artery Anastomosis.
Duration: 3 days
Cost: $1200.
Basic Microsurgery Course
This course is indicated for medical professionals with a need to master basic microsurgery technique. Students will follow the
chapters in microsurgical exposure course plus the following:
- Continuous Suture Technique in End-to-End Anastomosis
- Rat femoral Vein Anastomosis
- Basic Techniques in Peripheral Nerve Repair
- Interpositional Vein Graft
- End-to-Side Anastomosis
Duration: 7 days
Cost: $1600..
Microsurgical sessions
Microsurgery sessions are directed towards people that already have taken any of the previous courses and want to refresh their skills. It consists in sessions of 3 to 4 hours with a dedicated instructor to prepare the initial set up. The student will be allowed to work freely but the instructor will be at hand for assistance.
